This is such a great list, I haven't heard of so many of these! And my son will be thrilled to see there's a new Knight Owl, just requested it from my library!

Yes, the second one is just as good. I’d love to hear what you think if you check out the first chapter books. Early readers and first chapters are some of my favorites to read with my kids!

Adding them to my library list! We love the silly classics by Arnold Lobel like Owl at Home and Mouse Soup but are those in the same vane? We also got some Nancy Clancy from the library the other day and I was surprised at how much the kids and I enjoyed them because I was judging that book by its cover but my littlest can’t resist anything with sparkles. lol.

i love owl at home! it is probably my favorite of his books. have you read the cornbread and poppy series by matthew cordell? i think those are most similar to lobel’s books. the lone wolf series by kiah thomas (2 books out currently, 2 more coming as of now) is hilarious in my humble opinion, particularly if you appreciate curmudgeons. a day with mousse is similar in someways to frog and toad, but also a bit more quirky if that make sense. i haven’t heard of the nancy clancy books, but i am intrigued if they have sparkles on the cover as well 😅 ✨

Just looked up Cornbread and Poppy and omg how cute!!! Also, I thought I had seen lone wolf and I was wrong and I’m so intrigued by the synopsis. Seems very up our alley. Nancy Clancy is the same girl from Fancy Nancy and idk if it’s a rave review, but more I was prepped to dislike and then I didn’t. Always a pleasure. Keep these awesome recs coming!! I can’t wait to check for them.

We checked out "Knight Owl" from the library this week and, given that we've read it about five times a day for the past several days, I know my little ones will love "Knight Owl and Early Bird"! Thanks for sharing!

Both of my kids got Rubik's cubes for Christmas so I'm going to look for the biography as maybe a Valentine!
